CMHS students at Manufacturing Day at PSC
CMHS students take part in this year’s Manufacturing Day at Prairie State College

Manufacturing Day is an annual celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. It officially occurs on the first Friday in October and this year students from Crete-Monee High School were invited to attend. Special thanks to Mr. Reggie Greenwood who helped organize the event and partnered the high school with Bimba Manufacturing Company, and Mr. Mike Pavlick of Bimba for working with our Robotics team last year. “Our students have benefitted greatly from this wonderful partnership with Bimba,” says CMHS Math, Science and Career Technology Division Leader, Mr. Jason Okrasinski. Mr. Okrasinski adds that two students were employed by the company over the summer and he is hopeful to take another group of 15 students for the 2nd semester. “It is estimated that there are currently more than 20,000 manufacturing jobs available in the Chicago Southland area and we are excited to begin connecting our students to such awesome opportunities,” he added.
